Helping Students Understand Why They Love the Way They Do

Real conversations about relationships, self awareness, attachment styles, and the patterns that shape how we show up in love and connection.

Why this matters for students is simple. If someone had explained attachment styles to me when I was in college, everything about my relationships would have changed. I spent years repeating the same cycle without realizing it. Different people. Same pattern. Same ending. Most students today are doing the same thing without even knowing it. They are navigating dating, friendships, breakups, and emotional overwhelm with no real language for why they react the way they do. No one teaches this. No one explains the nervous system or why closeness can feel comforting one moment and overwhelming the next. This work gives them the clarity I wish I had back then. And that clarity changes everything.

What Students Walk Away With

I don’t teach heavy theory. I meet students where they are. They leave with a real understanding of:

  • Why certain relationships feel safe and others feel chaotic
  • How their attachment style influences who they choose to date and how they connect

  • Why they chase or pull away without meaning to
  • Why some people trigger them more than others
  • What secure connection actually feels like
  • The role their nervous system plays in attraction, communication, and conflict
  • How to move toward secure attachment in everyday, practical ways

What Makes My Work Different

This is where my zone of genius lives. When I teach this material, I drop into a flow state that students can feel from the moment I start speaking. It is grounded, intuitive, and real. The conversations move with energy rather than script, and students often tell me that it feels like someone finally explained what they have been feeling for years. I blend psychology, attachment theory, nervous system awareness, and lived experience into something that makes students think, reflect, and breathe easier. And my approach never feels clinical or overwhelming. It feels like clarity. These are the conversations that shift how students understand themselves and how they connect with others.

What These Events Can Look Like

Every campus is unique, so the format stays flexible. Common experiences include the following.

Interactive Workshops

A conversational, engaging session where students learn the four attachment styles, explore their patterns, and understand how to create secure connection.

Open Q&A Sessions

A space where students can ask honest questions about dating, relationships, breakups, communication, or anything that feels confusing.

1:1 Attachment Style Conversations

These are short, supportive conversations with individual students to help them identify their attachment style and understand what creates safety for them. These can take place in student unions, during wellness events, or as an add on to the workshop.

Who This Helps Most

This work supports any part of campus life where students navigate relationships, emotional wellness, or personal development. This includes student life and wellness programs, residence life teams, mental health and counseling centers, new student or first-year experience programs, leadership groups, fraternities and sororities, and any community on campus where students are building relationships and learning how to communicate. If your students are dating, breaking up, connecting, navigating conflict, or trying to understand themselves better, it fits.

“What stands out about CT is his presence and the way he listens. You can tell he’s not trying to fix you – he’s trying to understand you. Conversations feel easy and safe, filled with curiosity instead of judgment. It’s rare to find someone who makes openness feel that natural.”
